Howard joins us from Modo Yoga Los Angeles. Howard discovered Modo Yoga about four years ago. After about six months of practice, he knew that he wanted to be a Modo Yoga teacher – to have a consistently positive outlook on life, infectious happiness, and knowledge about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga. The first time he mentioned his interest to his mentor and senior Modo Yoga teacher, Emily Buck, she responded simply: “You are a yoga teacher.” While he remains unsure about whether Emily understood the power of her response at the time, her matter-of-fact statement was the catalyst for him to pursue yoga teaching. About a year later, Howard completed Level I teacher training in Kelowna, BC, Canada, and then Flow training less than a year later in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Yoga is part of Howard’s commitment to wellness – physical, mental, and spiritual. Modo Yoga is his community. It’s where he feels loved and gets to share that love with others. Modo Yoga is an integral part of his life. Howard says that “Modo Yoga has changed me. I am a different person than who I was before I walked into the studio for the first time. I’m happier, healthier, calmer, and even friendlier. I cope with stress more effectively. I have a strong self-concept. I am more confident. My friends, family, clients, and colleagues all notice the difference in my demeanor, my mood, and my outlook on life. It has also changed my life plan. I am motivated to create a life that is more peaceful and simpler. For all these reasons and more, I am motivated to return to my mat each day
